The World Expo

China Broadcasting Network Beijing June 30th, according to the voice of China, "CNG news" reported at 13 hours and 05 minutes, after the Expo passport, all kinds of Expo badges are also popular.

From tourists to staff,

Volunteer

There are more and more people collecting badges. "Badge control" has become another picturesque scenery in Expo Park.

But the most difficult part is the badge of volunteers.

In June 25, 2010, Shanghai Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited (Standard Chartered China) organized a group of 400 people to visit World Expo, Shanghai, which is one of the volunteer service day activities in Standard Chartered China.

The beneficiaries (mainly children and the elderly) who participated in this event were able to regain their eyesight and see the light again under the support of charitable bank's "visible hope" public project.

"Visible hope" is the Standard Chartered Bank's global project against blindness.

China is the

Public welfare project

The main beneficiary countries.

We work with leading non-governmental eye care institutions to prevent and treat blindness, "said Lin Qingde, chief executive officer and vice chairman of the board of directors of Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited.

"We have been working hard to prevent blindness and help patients see the light again so that they can enjoy an independent life."

"For today's Expo volunteers, our goal is simple:" visible hope "has ensured everyone has the right to enjoy the bright.

Now that they can see the light again, we want to let them witness the great event of the 2010 Shanghai Expo.

The "visible hope" was launched in 2003 by a chartered employee who was full of hot pillow. He paid back to the community on the occasion of celebrating the 150th anniversary of Standard Chartered Bank to contribute to our community.

The goal was to raise funds for 28000 cataract surgery, which is equivalent to the number of employees in that year.

At present, Standard Chartered Bank has about 75000 employees and has worked closely with the International Association against blindness to invest $37 million in funding to help 30 million people around the world see the light again.

By 2014, our anti blindness rehabilitation project aims to raise and invest $20 million in the provision of sustainable comprehensive eye care services for 20 million poor and backward areas in 20 developing countries.

Blindness

It is a global problem affecting more than 45 million people.

Blind people account for 15% of this figure in China.

But 80% of blindness is preventable or treatable.

[1] therefore, preventing blindness is both an economic problem and a health problem.

Standard Chartered Bank is committed to working together with leading non-governmental ophthalmic medical institutions and making use of its global network strengths and workforce strength to create great differences for the community.

So far, the "visible hope" of China's anti blindness rehabilitation project has been screened for about 210 thousand people, 75000 cases of medical treatment, 7000 cases of ophthalmic surgery, and medical training for more than 600 doctors and medical personnel.

In September 2009, Standard Chartered Bank set up a children eye disease prevention and control center in Dalian, providing a sustainable development plan for supporting local community construction.

The project ended in 2012.

The promise and operation mode of the "visible hope" project has an excellent interpretation of Standard Chartered's latest brand commitment, Here for good, which is "consistent and consistent" for the people in the place of operation.

It is understood that this little volunteer "heart badge" was designed by the World Expo Bureau for volunteers in World Expo in 2010. Each of them has a unique code and is distributed to volunteers only.
