The Minimum Wage Of $140 Requested By The Kampuchea Trade Union Was Abstained By 2 Delegates.

The Ministry of labour of Kampuchea said that after the establishment of a working group to negotiate a minimum wage for the garment industry with a more active trade union, the Department put aside the minimum wage requirement of the Union for $140 to cater for the lower salaries of the government and the business community.

The working group is composed of 9 members.

9 from corporate representatives and 9 from government officials to assist in seeking common ground for minimum wage.

The working group has completed a secret vote in October 30th (2014). One of the 3 votes selected from the 3 choices of the $110 raised by the business community, the $121 raised by the government representative and the $140 raised by the trade union representative is the minimum salary for the Ming (2015) year.

Of which, 110 US dollars and 121 US dollars each have 9 votes, while 140 US dollars only take 7 votes, and the other 2 votes represent the abstention of the union representatives.

Heng Suor, a labor department spokesman, said the result of the vote means that the Labor Advisory Committee: LAC, which sets the new minimum wage proposal, will not consider the Union's recommendations in November.

The spokesman said that the above 2 highest votes ($110 and $121) would be submitted to LAC for consideration and further discussion.

The working group last time

At that time, the government set 120 US dollars for the poverty line of Phnom Penh where most manufacturers were located. Therefore, workers should be guaranteed not to be below the poverty line, but the management still maintains a minimum wage of $110.

In addition, Far Saly, chairman of the National Trade Unions Coalition in Kampuchea, criticized the government and its representatives for ignoring the minimum wage requirement of the Union for 140 US dollars.

The canal said that the chairman of the Cambodian Labor Union Federation, representing Nuon Chantha and the chairman of the general association of Kampuchea Alliance (Cambodia Union Federation), Chuon Mom Kampuchea, all voted for $140.

Xinjiang city to send 30 entrepreneurs to learn management experience in the mainland

30 textile and garment entrepreneurs in Hucheng county will start from the SME Venture Park and go to 6 well-known clothing enterprises such as red bean, JEANSWEST and Meyer for 3 months' training.

The 30 trainees will take the post of assistant of factory director, and better learn the production management and garment processing flow.

It is understood that 30 entrepreneurs are selected from the 188 people registered in the township of the county, and all the costs of training are borne by the government of the city of Huo Cheng county.
