I still remember the conversation at that time. The head of the human resources department asked me on the phone: "how do you know that we need to recruit people here?" I replied, "a company in a period of rapid development needs talents."
He was silent at the end of the phone. He said, "we were recruiting people, but now we have entered the final stage of selection. You are now applying for a job. It is unfair to others.
After several rounds of examination, including the initial examination, written examination, and the head of the responsible sales department, I finally met the chairman.
Dozens of people, two, the other last because of various reasons did not come, that is, I finally a person.
Then, on the occasion, he saw the person in charge of the human resources department. He said, "I didn't expect you to come last. You wanted to give me a chance to try it. Finally, I wanted you, but it wasn't that they weren't good, but they thought you were right and also plastic, not that you were superior to them."
I have to say that this is the first person in my marketing career who has had an impact on my future work. If I don't have this opportunity, I really don't know what I'm going to do now. Maybe I'll stay in my office all day. Maybe I really don't know what it is possible.
The person in charge of human resources can not say anything about "superior man", but at least he is far sighted in "no matter how talented people are". He does not rigidly adhere to rigid rules, and gives a graduating person an opportunity and stage, and this opportunity is "huge" to him.
More than three years later, the responsible person left the office and just left the company. He said, "everyone should have no regrets. All the people I recruited here have stirred up the great responsibility." yes, thank you very much, I thought.
We need to go further, because we have greater ideals.

But the shortage is also obvious, that is, without actual combat experience, they often commit some very low-level mistakes.

Luckily, the first boss in my marketing career was the former.
Such a boss has a very important impact on my career.

The charm of personality is often more important than ability. Skills, methods and knowledge can be acquired through study, but the principles of doing things and things of human nature are hard to change.
Newly graduated college students are bold and have ideas, but they are also very weak. If they are coming, they will be under great pressure and blow.
So I said I was lucky because the company gave me half a year of buffer time.
For example, the company launched a new product at the time of the peak season. The price of the new product is more expensive. All the dealers in the market do it. Obviously, it is not appropriate. First, it is the different emphasis and the different network. Secondly, we all do at the same time, the price is difficult to maintain, so we chose one.
But the dealer saw that the company didn't invest much, so the market was developing slowly.
At that time, the company had sales examination on this product, so the boss told me that at this stage, the main energy can be put on promoting new products.
When I received the instructions, I was very anxious at that time, and I did a lot of things that seem foolish now.
Because the product is more expensive, according to the situation at that time, we should mainly attack the catering and evening market. (of course, the company does not have the promotion idea and guidance of the whole product, and completely decide its own). I do not know the depth of me. The salesmen who drive the dealer's tricycle and the dealer do a lot of shopping in the city store (grocery store and small supermarket) for three days, probably 30-40 shops. After a week's return visit, the products are basically not sold, and then they are returned.
Luckily, this is a small city. What if it's a big city?
Now, of course, it seems "silly", but after that, I understand a truth: sales work is not blind. Most of the time, it needs market analysis and wisdom (and this wisdom needs guidance from experienced people).
That is to say, for a salesperson who has just worked in marketing, there must first be a set of "standardized" marketing frameworks and processes, otherwise, after many years, he finds himself still spinning around.
At that time, it was silly to think that we should increase the number of outlets. We asked dealers to do two or three types of terminal distribution. But we can imagine that these high-end products can not be sold in small stores. Once they are sold, the terminals will be sold at a low price, and will no longer be stocked.
Spent several days in the terminal goods, immediately returned to the collection, if the situation caused by poor sales, I am afraid that the new product died.
Instead of being rude and rude, the boss helped me to analyze why and why not.
This gave me a very practical lesson for the new recruits.
Since then, we have also understood the analysis of consumers, terminals, distributors, and enterprise products themselves.
The reason why I often take this example is not how much I want to advocate. Actually, it seems very simple now. But for a new person, in the long run, the way and method of thinking is more important than doing things.
Another colleague who entered the company several months later than me was not so lucky. Because of a similar promotion problem, after the probation period, no contract was signed and the class was dismissed.
Only later did I realize that his boss thought he was not flexible enough, so the company did not give him the chance.
For him, this blow is huge, and the psychological impact and confidence accumulation on his sales career are also very negative.
This is the result of encountering the "superior man" and meeting the "villain".
Of course, the high person here refers to someone who can help you, guide you, and promote you in the growth of marketing career, not a god operator, but a supernatural power.
