RMB exchange rate appreciation, export tax rebate reduction, processing trade policy tightening, labor costs rising, refined oil prices remain high, coal electricity and oil capacity tight...... When the whole industry is caught in the cold winter, a financial crisis originating in the United States is sweeping the globe. China's garment industry as a big exporter is facing a serious impact again. Although it is hard to estimate how the global financial crisis is going to develop. However, the strategic thinking that China's garment industry needs to accelerate pformation and upgrading is becoming more and more clear.
The first is to adjust export orientation. Low price, low-grade design and low profit, the "international image" of Chinese clothing export has come to the time of serious adjustment in the past years. Not to mention the pressure of resources and environment and the exploitation of labor value brought by the old export mode, from the point of international economic order, it has also been criticized by unfair competition from dumping, which has also made a real impact on the textile and garment industry of other countries.
Therefore, how to become a responsible big country in the international community and turn from a large garment exporting country into a powerful country is the dream we have pursued for many years, and is also the expectation of the international community.
The second is to expand domestic market demand. As the first people's livelihood industry, clothing is known as the everlasting sunrise industry, and the huge market demand of the 1 billion 300 million domestic population is far from full potential. Especially in recent the third Plenary Session of the 17th CPC Central Committee, the central government decided to increase support for China's agricultural development and mobilize the market potential of rural and small towns. For garment industry, how to grasp this historical opportunity and strive to develop the rural and small town market requires careful study, planning and implementation.
The third is to speed up the promotion of industrial upgrading. China's clothing industry has gradually increased its focus in international competition to the new challenge of pnational production mode, and is facing greater constraints on implementing Scientific Outlook on Development's extensive development in China. In addition, the adjustment of exchange rate, interest rate, tax rate, labor costs, energy saving, emission reduction, environmental protection, social responsibility and other cost pressures have increased, coupled with a long history of low R & D investment and weak brand development. These factors constitute a sharp challenge to the clothing industry. Only by accelerating the upgrading of industries can we continue to achieve sound and rapid development at a new historical starting point.
The fourth is to attach importance to the construction of independent brand. Because of the lack of brand value, Chinese clothing can only be at the low end of the world industrial chain. In order to get more value-added, brand building has become a top priority. Under the background of the recent industrial slump, some enterprises with good brand value have not been greatly affected, and some enterprises even get greater opportunities for development, which provide us with a good example.
We should also attach great importance to cultural creativity. In the 2008 fashion creative space series held recently in Shanghai, President Du Yuzhou pointed out that the fashion creative space aims at exploring the new needs of modern lifestyle for textile and clothing. A new technology and product often bring new consumption fields. If we seize this field, it will undoubtedly be a gold mine for the whole industry, which will bring a lot of value.
