The Group Standard Seminar On Carbon Footprint Of Home Textile Products Was Successfully Held

On July 23, the Carbon Footprint Group Standards Seminar sponsored by the Group Standardization Technical Committee of China Household Textiles Industry Association was successfully held in Nanjing. The meeting mainly discussed three group standards, including Product Carbon Footprint Product Category Rules Bedding Sets and Product Carbon Footprint Product Category Rules Towel Products.

Yang Zhaohua, Vice President of China Textile Industry Federation, Zhu Xiaohong, President of China Household Textile Industry Association, Zhang Tong, President of Jiangsu Textile Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute, Hu Kehua, Deputy Director of the Social Responsibility Office of China Textile Industry Federation, Professor Gao Weidong, former Vice President of Jiangnan University, Wang Laili, Professor of Zhejiang University of Technology, Guo Yan, Professor of Beijing Institute of Clothing Technology More than 30 people, including Li Min, Wang Jie and representatives of relevant enterprises, attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ruan Hang, Deputy Secretary General of China Household Textile Industry Association.

Zhang Tong first delivered a welcome speech. He gave a warm welcome to the experts and enterprises attending the meeting and believed that the discussion on carbon footprint standards was of great significance. As the undertaking unit of the Secretariat of the National Standards Committee, it will fully assist in promoting the implementation of carbon footprint accounting in the home textile industry.

Yang Zhaohua made an important speech at the meeting, fully affirming the industry organization's formulation of the carbon footprint group standard for home textile products. He pointed out that the calculation of the carbon footprint of home textile products meets the current market demand, and suggested that enterprises should do a good job in the accumulation of carbon footprint related data, and the formulation of the carbon footprint group standard will help China's home textile products to increase international competitiveness.

At the meeting, Wang Laili gave a detailed introduction to the group standard "Product Carbon Footprint Product Category Rules Bedding Kit" from the purpose and significance of standard formulation, standard content and carbon reduction measures.

Guo Yan, Li Min and Wang Jie respectively introduced two group standards: Product Carbon Footprint Product Category Rules Towel Products and Product Carbon Footprint Evaluation Pure Cotton Towels. From the description of standard preparation to the system boundary, calculation method and data collection range of carbon footprint of towel products, a detailed introduction is made.

Experts and enterprises actively discussed the standard and put forward suggestions for modification.

Hu Kehua said that under the current international environment, the calculation of product carbon footprint has become an inevitable trend. Under the guidance of standards, improve the product carbon footprint accounting capability of enterprises and meet China's dual carbon goals.

Zhu Xiaohong explained the industrial significance of this carbon footprint standard seminar from the perspective of the necessity and urgency of the development of carbon footprint group standards. She suggested that home textile enterprises should actively participate in the discussion and formulation process of group standards. Through the seminar, they can understand and learn the rules related to carbon footprint of home textile products, and effectively promote the formulation and implementation of group standards for carbon footprint of home textile products.

After the meeting, the standard drafting unit will sort out, modify, supplement and improve the standard draft according to the opinions and suggestions put forward by the experts at the seminar, form the draft for comments as soon as possible, and solicit opinions widely in the industry.

During their stay in Nanjing, Yang Zhaohua, Zhu Xiaohong, Zhang Tong, Gao Weidong and their entourage went to Hailingmeng Home Furnishings Co., Ltd. for research and held a symposium for in-depth discussion. Ni Chen, the director and general manager of Hailingmeng Home Furnishing Co., Ltd., accompanied the survey to visit the company's intelligent digital engine system, party building activity room and HONI living hall. At the symposium, based on the current situation that the home textile industry is facing greater pressure as a whole, the development direction of the home textile industry and the importance of enterprise transformation were discussed.
