The 8th Canadian Garment and Textile Purchasing Exhibition, hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles and the Jiangsu Council for the Promotion of International Trade, opened at the Toronto Convention Center on August 21. This is the first large-scale offline recovery of the exhibition after the COVID-19 epidemic.

The total exhibition area of this exhibition is more than 3000 square meters, attracting nearly 200 exhibitors from more than 10 countries, including China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc., with a total number of more than 200 booths. The scope of exhibits covers the whole industrial chain of clothing and textile industry, including clothing, home textiles, clothing, bags and other categories.

Chinese enterprises are still the main exhibitors. More than 120 Chinese exhibitors from more than 10 provinces and cities, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Fujian, Shanghai, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Liaoning, etc., have participated in the exhibition, with more than 130 booths, many of which are well-known enterprises in the textile and clothing industry.

Liu Linlin, Counsellor and Consul of the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto, Zhang Xinmin, Vice President of the China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, Deng Jun, President of the Bank of China (Canada) and President of the China Chamber of Commerce in Canada, and others attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition, and communicated with various exhibitors to understand the industry trends and enterprise needs.

Zhang Xinmin told reporters that Chinese enterprises showed high enthusiasm for participating in the exhibition this year and their expectations for the Canadian market. He hoped to promote the recovery and development of China Canada textile and clothing trade through this exhibition.

The "China Brand" zone set up by the Ministry of Commerce of China again relying on the exhibition is still a highlight in the exhibition hall. This zone displays 9 selected brands of China's textile and clothing industry, and shows high-quality products of Chinese enterprises to international buyers.

Zhang Tong, general manager of the North American business department of Zhejiang Textile Import and Export Group Co., Ltd., said that the foreign trade market was generally weak during the epidemic, but as a supplier of women's clothing fabrics, the company's customer source remained stable on the whole. He hopes to further expand overseas customers through this exhibition.

During the three-day exhibition, there will be more than 20 forums and lectures, as well as "Chinese Brand Publicity Fashion Show" and "International Fashion Show". Experts in the industry will interpret and discuss topics such as green sustainable development, supply chain security, and digital marketing of the textile and clothing industry.

This exhibition was organized by JPC Company of the United States and co organized by Canadian Garment Alliance. The organizer said that the pre registration scale of this exhibition doubled compared with the previous one, and the market response was "exciting". (End)
