"The world is woven!" Why did Li Lingshen, Vice President of China Textile Industry Federation, reiterate his summary of textiles on many occasions?
In today's world, no matter where you go, you can see the shadow of textiles. Textiles are everywhere in buildings, cabs, roads, airplanes, tourism, medical care, aerospace, defense and military industry and many other fields. Such achievements are inseparable from the innovative development of new fiber materials.
Facing the new situation, what new tasks are new fiber materials undertaking? What are the latest research achievements and development trends of new fiber materials? How to further promote interdisciplinary and cross domain collaboration?
On July 18, the "Academician Forum for High Quality Development of General Technology Fiber New Materials" brought insights and practical experience of high-tech innovation and development of fiber new materials from the perspective of industrial demand and discipline development.
The forum was hosted by the Science and Technology Innovation Department of General Technology Group, undertaken by the State Key Laboratory of Biosource Fiber Manufacturing Technology, China Textile Research Institute Co., Ltd., and co organized by the Strategic Alliance for Technological Innovation in Chemical Fiber Industry. The convening of the forum will build an open platform for the integrated development of "production, learning, research and application" in the field of new fiber materials, which is oriented to the frontier, academic interaction, cooperation and exchange. The forum adopts a combination of on-site and video, with the main venue and video sub venue. There are more than 600 participants online and offline.
New fiber materials are opening up more unknown fields
From "the world of clothes and quilts" to "the world of weaving", with the application boundary of high-tech textiles helping the industry expand indefinitely, the dream of realizing "unlimited substitution" of textiles is being realized, and more unknown application fields are expanding.

Yu Jianyong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, president of Donghua University, and director of the academic committee of the State Key Laboratory of Biosource Fiber Manufacturing Technology, said that facing the new situation and new tasks, new fiber materials should give full play to the leading role of scientific and technological innovation, continue to pay attention to the progress of key technologies, green low-carbon technologies, and manufacturing equipment technology, and take high-quality development as the guidance, Aiming at the world's advanced level, we will strengthen the research, development and application of intelligent, functional and green fiber new material varieties through interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary integrated innovation, build an industrial collaborative innovation ecosystem, and enable the transformation and upgrading of the textile industry. Yu Jianyong hopes that the laboratory can continuously improve the level of scientific and technological self-reliance, build a world-class innovation highland of new fiber materials, and provide strong support for the sustainable and high-quality development of new fiber materials in China.
At present, a revolution based on fiber materials will become the strategic support for industrial development. The textile industry will realize the value remodeling of the industry in the cross-border integration of science and technology and the application and expansion of products, and fundamentally change the industrial development ecology. Li Lingshen, Vice President of China Textile Industry Federation, analyzed that at present, the world's major countries are competing to layout the four major industries of artificial intelligence, green energy, upstream resources, and advanced manufacturing. The global industrial chain layout shows three trends of digitalization and capitalization of the industrial chain, diversification of the supply chain, and regionalization and localization of the manufacturing industrial chain.
Based on the development orientation of China's textile industry during the "14th Five Year Plan", when China basically realizes socialist modernization in 2035, China's textile industry will become the main driver of world textile science and technology, an important leader of global fashion, and a strong promoter of sustainable development. Li Lingshen proposed that in the future, the textile industry should create a first-class innovation ecology, form an innovation closed loop with the industrial chain innovation chain interwoven and connected from end to end, and unblock the channel for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. In the face of key common technical problems such as new fiber materials and advanced textiles in the textile industry during the "14th Five Year Plan" period, it is urgent to accelerate the pace of scientific and technological innovation, make sure that the key raw materials supporting the development of advanced fiber materials are imported, the level of special technology and devices for high-end functional fibers is low, and the supporting capacity of key technology, equipment and industrial system for high-performance fibers is weak, The development bottlenecks of key raw materials, fiber quality and single line scale of bio based and degradable fibers are far behind those of foreign countries.
Multi field and interdisciplinary, providing direction for industry development
In order to exchange the latest research achievements and development trends of new fiber materials in different fields, and promote interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary cooperation, the forum invited Qu Jinping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, director of the National Engineering Research Center for New Polymer Forming Equipment of South China University of Technology, Chen Wenxing, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of Zhejiang University of Technology, Xu Weilin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, vice secretary of the Party Committee and president of Wuhan Textile University, and Cheng Bowen, director of the Academic Committee of Tianjin University of Science and Technology and director of the State Key Laboratory of Biosource Fiber Manufacturing Technology, respectively put forward insights for the development of new fiber materials in the future from their respective research fields.
At the moment when the development of "double carbon" has become a major trend, the polymer product manufacturing industry also needs to actively and steadily promote the "double carbon" goal, and implement the carbon peak action in a planned way. Qu Jinping proposed that polymer manufacturing equipment technology needs to promote work from three aspects: dynamic process, precision molding and intelligent equipment, so as to provide a strong impetus for polymer industries such as new fiber materials to move towards a more energy-saving, low-carbon and green future.
Chen Wenxing also pointed out that on the basis of achieving the goal of becoming a textile power, greening is an inevitable requirement for high-quality development of the textile industry. He pointed out that in the future, we should build a green textile industry that is sustainable in resources, low in carbon and emissions in preparation and processing, and actively manage the environment, and build a green development system. Chen Wenxing pointed out the necessity and practical solutions of green development of textile industry from the dimensions of green fiber raw materials, green fiber material preparation, green textile dyeing and finishing, green textile environmental protection application, and green textile standard system construction.
In the face of the demand of the big health industry for textiles, Xu Weilin introduced the direction of innovation and excavation of fiber materials in combination with medical and health practice and intelligent health practice. He pointed out that the development of functional fibers is a symbol of the progress of modern fiber science. The development of functional fiber, differential fiber and high-performance fiber has created favorable conditions for the technological innovation of traditional textile industry and the transformation to high-tech industry, and has contributed to the improvement of human healthy living standards.
As the director of the State Key Laboratory of Biosource Fiber Manufacturing Technology, Cheng Bowen, combined with the work already carried out in the laboratory, put forward some ideas for the development of green cellulose fiber preparation technology. He believes that the cellulose fiber friendly production method needs to be broken through. For example, the production cost and functional technology of NMMO method need to be innovated, and the construction of special industrial production line is very necessary. Melt blowing/flash evaporation method has high technical efficiency in the production of nanofibers, large-scale technology in the production of nanofibers, and the rapid extraction and recovery of fiber ultrafine solvents are easier than ordinary fibers. Especially, the application of new composite products is huge, which deserves attention and development. In the process of green and low-carbon development of textile industry, the preparation of cellulose fiber is of great significance. It is believed that green and environmentally friendly preparation technology will enable the application and promotion of cellulose fiber.
The innovation of fiber materials is the source and guide of product innovation, process innovation and equipment innovation in the industry. The high-quality development of fiber materials is an inexhaustible power for the industry to stabilize and build industrial advantages.
