Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the garment industry of Kampuchea's pillar industries has been short of raw materials and other difficulties recently. Many local Chinese garment processing enterprises are actively guarding against the epidemic situation and persisting in production. After China gradually realized its resumption and resumption of production, it promptly acted and coordinated the supply of textile raw materials to help Kampuchea's clothing industry tide over difficulties.

Zhongzhi (Kampuchea) Garments Co., Ltd., located in the suburb of Phnom Penh, employs more than 2000 Kampuchea workers. General manager Wang Zhilan said in an interview with reporters that in the past month, due to insufficient supply of raw materials, factory production has been greatly affected.

"Affected by the epidemic, we should seriously delay the production of goods concurrently shipped to Kampuchea from the domestic raw materials factory in early February." Wang Zhilan said, "but there are more than 2000 families behind more than 2000 workers in the factory. If factories shut down, their lives will be difficult. "

To help Kampuchea factories overcome the difficulties, the company decided to transport raw materials originally planned for use in China in February to Kampuchea factories. "At that time, the domestic factories had not yet returned to work, and although the raw materials were not enough, they ensured that the workers in the Kampuchea factory were alive and earning." Wang Zhilan said.

He said that the impact of the epidemic on the plant is not only raw material supply, as a labor-intensive industry, epidemic prevention and control work is the top priority. "It is our social responsibility to take root in Kampuchea's development for 9 years and face difficulties together with workers."

Kampuchea's garment processing industry is the largest export industry of Cambodia, creating a large number of jobs - about 1100 factories employ 750 thousand workers. As one of the four pillar industries in Kampuchea, more than 60% of the industry's accessories are imported from China.

As a result of shortage of raw materials, according to Cambodian statistics, as of March 6th, a total of 40 factories in Kampuchea applied for stoppage, and nearly twenty thousand workers were temporarily unemployed. If the situation is not improved in March, more than 30 thousand workers are expected to be unemployed. At the critical moment, China quickly mobilized a large quantity of raw materials to Kampuchea. On the evening of March 9th, the first batch of 63 containers of textile raw materials were docked at Sihanouk port, Kampuchea. More than a dozen freighters arrived in the past week.

Wang Zhilan finally breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the good news. "Time is cost. With the cooperation between China and Cambodia, materials can arrive one day earlier, and help us resume normal production a day earlier."

Kampuchea Prime Minister Hong Sen said he thanked China and all the relevant Chinese enterprises and investors for their active participation in promoting the timely and rapid delivery of raw materials to Kampuchea and alleviating the urgent need of Kampuchea's factories.

Kampuchea's commerce ministry said it was a miracle in Kampuchea's garment industry during the crisis. China's initiatives have proved that Cambodia and China are truly worthy brothers.

Wu Guoquan, the economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Kampuchea, told reporters that many Chinese enterprises expressed their willingness to do everything in their power to help Kampuchea. China Ocean Shipping Group, Orient Overseas Container Shipping Co., Ltd., China Foreign Trade Transportation Corporation, Haifeng logistics group and other enterprises form a joint guarantee force for the textile raw material transportation.

Jin Yongyi, director of the Haifeng Haifeng Logistics Group's new Haifeng container transport branch, said: "we have one hundred percent guarantee positions for the textile raw materials transported to Kampuchea. In recent years, the domestic textile industry has resumed production and production gradually, and the volume of goods sent to Kampuchea has soared. If there is demand, we can also add ships.

Wu Guoquan said that with the joint efforts of the Chinese and Cambodian governments and the efforts of the relevant enterprises, China's textile raw materials will be delivered to the Kampuchea factory as fast as possible and the losses to the Cambodian side should be kept to a minimum.
