According to the world clothing shoes and hats net, like the Lorillard tobacco companies being split up for sale, or the Dillard Paper is gone, now another pillar of the industry is also crumbling.

The American Cowboy brand Cone Denim parent International Textile Group will stop the operation of White Oak factory in Gollings Bo Lo (North Carolina city) in December 31st. Today, this traditional cowboy manufacturer has gone through more than 110 years, undoubtedly supporting an era of cowboy products. More importantly, it has become the pronoun of the city of Boluo, and is a pillar industry to nourish the city.

The White Oak factory can be traced back to the 50s of the 19th century, weaving machines twill, these fabrics will eventually be used in many high-end Cowboy brand products, including J Brand.

These old looms are more ancient, narrower and slower than modern high efficiency looms, but the fabric they weave will be somewhat uneven, that is, the knot, which gives the fabric the texture and personality that modern looms lack.

"Its factory in Boluo is affected by changes in market demand."

The impact is the purchase of fabrics other than the US market, which directly led to a sharp reduction in orders.

Kenneth T.Kunberger, President and chief executive officer of Cone Denim and White Oak, regrets the decision to close the factory, which means that about 200 workers will lose their jobs. There will also be a blank in the traditional manufacturing field of the city, but it is a last resort.

In the last few months before closing, the company will complete all orders for all customers of White Oak and provide pitional service to employees.

But the headquarters of the International Textile Group will continue to operate in Gollings, Boluo, and the other 10 manufacturing plants in the US, Mexico and China will also remain in operation.

The Platinum stock company of California bought the Cone Denim's international textile group at the price of 99 million US dollars in October 2016.

Since 1905, the White Oak plant has begun to focus on cowboy production in Boluo.

Among them, the most American consumers know is the 1940s American retro Draper 3 x cowboy series.

From Cone Denim cowboys who made products for factories to almost one hand, the founding family of the company became one of the indelible imprints of Boluo.

At the same time, companies do not stick to tradition and stagnate. They also operate Cone 3D research and development incubator, focusing on performance and sustainable cowboy fabric research and development.

White Oak logo denim products become the biggest signboard of American cowboys.

At its peak, White Oak was once the largest in the world.

The factory has an area of 1 million 600 thousand square feet and 2500 workers.

The fluctuation of the economic environment puts the development of traditional textile industry at a disadvantage. Under such circumstances, it is not easy for White Oak to survive. They always insist on using the old loom to produce jeans for the high fashion brand in small quantities.

Before and after 1994, the North American free trade agreement almost destroyed the PieiTe Monte triad textile industry, which indirectly led to lower production costs in Mexico. After that, the White Oak was left behind by the production of factories in the world.

However, as stated in the company's bulletin, the volume of orders at present is greatly reduced. Compared with that time, it can only occupy a small part of the peak period. Under such circumstances, it is difficult for the company to bear the high cost of continuing to run a large factory.

Gollings, mayor of Boluo Nancy Vaughan, told JournalNow: "this is a huge blow, but it is also expected."

Coincidentally, Vaughan was celebrating at the Revolution plant's reopening on the same day, another manufacturing plant of Cone Denim, which remained idle after closing in 1980s.

Whether the fate of White Oak will be like Revolution is unknown.
