The Ningbo inspection and Quarantine Bureau said today that the 37/2015/TT-BCT announcement issued by the Ministry of industry and Commerce in Vietnam officially ended in November 2015. Since July 1st, the formaldehyde content of textiles exported from Vietnam and the content of aromatic amine from azo dyes must meet the new limit requirements.

textile

It has been a key export product of Ningbo, and has been exported to more than 100 countries and regions in the world. In 2015, the export volume exceeded 3 billion 400 million US dollars.

According to the European Union RAPEX bulletin, as of May this year, many export children's clothing and gloves were recalled because they contained azo dyes that release aromatic amines.

According to the new regulation, the textiles sold on the Vietnamese market, except for untreated yarn and wool germ materials, are available for children under 36 months of age. The formaldehyde residue should be less than 30mg/kg (mg / kg). The formaldehyde residue should be less than 75mg/kg, and the formaldehyde free residue should be less than 300mg/kg.

Aromatic amine

The residue should not exceed 30mg/kg.

It is worth noting that other national certificates and ecological labels, such as Oeko-Tex etc., are available for document verification and cannot be used as a voucher for meeting Vietnamese standards.

It is understood that formaldehyde and banned

azo dye

It is a common harmful chemical substance in textiles. If there is excessive formaldehyde in textiles, the direct contact of skin can cause dermatitis and stains. Regular inhalation of formaldehyde can cause chronic poisoning and other symptoms.

Some dyes containing azo dyes will form carcinogenic aromatic amine compounds after long term contact with human skin, inducing human diseases.

Vietnam joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) at the end of 2006, and was also a member of China ASEAN Free Trade Area.

Because of its relatively low labor cost and location advantages, it has attracted textile enterprises from China, Korea, Japan and France.

Vietnam's textile and garment industry is not balanced, clothing production is large and exports to Europe and the United States are large, but upstream fabrics mainly rely on imports, especially from China.

The inspection and Quarantine Department reminded the vast majority of textile export enterprises to learn and understand the relevant directive requirements of the exporting countries in a timely manner, provide qualified textiles in strict accordance with the new requirements, strengthen technological research and development, improve product production processes, strengthen quality control, foster new competitive advantages, pay attention to market dynamics, enhance risk prevention capabilities, and avoid losses due to changes in policies and regulations and market fluctuations.
