Britain

In November, consumer confidence in the UK has improved slightly, but it is still close to a historical low. There is little sign that the Bank of England's massive interest rate easing has eased the market's worries about the recession, GfK NOP, a market research firm, said on Friday.

The company's overall consumer confidence index, released in November, was -35, higher than that of -36 in October, but it was not far from the historical low of July, -39, and was much lower than that of last November's -10.

But the above data are stronger than the -37 that economists expected last week by Dow Jones Newswires.

The confidence index for the past 12 months and the next 12 months has increased by 1 points, -71 and -36 respectively.

The index of measuring the bulk purchasing climate rose from -43 to -39.

The only positive indicator is whether the index is suitable for saving at present, but the index has dropped by 5 points to +4.
