The reporter learned from the China Textile Industry Association yesterday that the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) of the United States recently announced new regulations on the import of textile and clothing products in the US market. Those who are not in compliance with the new regulations should not only be punished for their failure to comply with the new regulations. Industry experts said that the United States is a big clothing export country in China, which is undoubtedly worse for the already sluggish clothing export industry. Enterprises should make a good response as soon as possible. It is understood that all textile and clothing products exported to the U.S. market must comply with the new regulations from February 2009. Different from the previous treatment of export products that violate the safety regulations, CPSC will directly and completely destroy the products that do not comply with the safety regulations. In addition, once the enterprise is found to have violated the regulations, it will be fined 15 million US dollars, which is much higher than the previous punishment. The new law also strengthens the safety management of baby clothing, including the supervision of the quality of fabric, rope and other accessories. At the same time, it is stipulated that commodities exported to the United States must be considered safe by an organization or laboratory recognized by ILAC.      Ma Xinzheng, senior analyst of China first textile network, said: first, export enterprises should understand the latest regulations in the international market as soon as possible. In particular, the mandatory standards for safety performance of textiles exported to the United States need to be paid close attention to; second, they should strictly register the main raw and auxiliary materials for production, strictly inspect the safety items of key raw and auxiliary materials, and strictly follow the importing countries or technologies Organize production according to regulations and standards, ensure that unqualified raw and auxiliary materials are not put into production, and unqualified products are not allowed to go out of the country, so as to avoid export risks to the greatest extent.
