Analysis Of China'S Textile Economic Operation In 1-4

In May 22nd, the China Federation of textile industry was held in 2012 1-4.

At the meeting, the Ministry of industry and statistics of China Textile Industry Federation made a comprehensive analysis on the data of textile industry's production, export, domestic sales, investment and efficiency. The trade associations of cotton spinning, chemical fiber, knitting, clothing, home textiles and industrial industries also introduced the operation of the industry for 1-4 months.

It is reported that in 2012 1-4 months, the economic operation of China's textile industry has been slowing down. The output growth of major products has declined significantly, and exports and profits have been greatly affected. The textile industry is facing greater operational pressure.

On the export side, China's textile and garment exports to Japan, the European Union and the United States have slowed down, and the market share in the three major markets has declined.

Among them, the export situation to the EU is the most severe. In 1-3 months of 2012, China's exports to the EU showed a negative growth, down 8.14% compared to the same period last year.

According to analysis, the decline of cotton products exports is the main reason for the decline of textile and clothing exports.

In terms of profit, the overall industry run rate in 2012 1-3 was 4.51%, down 0.66 percentage points compared to the same period last year. The profit margin of the chemical fiber industry is particularly prominent. In 2012, the profit margin of 1-3 months was 3.01%, a 3.03 percentage point lower than that of the same period last year.

According to the briefing, at present, the international market demand is still in the doldrums, and the domestic market is showing signs of warming. Cotton is affected by the policy of purchasing and storage, and the price trend is still uncertain.

The problem of chain competitiveness still exists. In the first half of the year, the industry is still going ahead under heavy pressure.

Wang Tiankai, President of China Textile Industry Federation, stressed at the meeting that in the face of unfavorable situation, the whole textile industry should strengthen confidence and work together to respond positively.

While striving for policies, we should strengthen the adjustment of product mix, especially to enhance the research and development of chemical fiber, imitation fiber and biomass fiber, so as to increase the added value of products.
