China Is The Biggest Buyer Of Textile Machinery Market.

The Itmf of the International Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (Itmf) recently announced that the sales situation of the textile machinery market in the world was good in early 2001, but sales orders decreased significantly from the second quarter of 2001.

The findings are based on information provided by 120 of the world's leading textile machinery manufacturers.

The statistical textile machinery in the study is the spinning machine, loom, braiding machine and process processor sold in 2001.


In terms of textile machinery, the world's cotton spinning machine (short fiber spinning machine) has reached 3 million 700 thousand units, almost the same as in 2000.

85% of them are sold to Asia, India is the first buyer, 874 thousand units; China second, 612 thousand; Pakistan third, 476 thousand; Bangladesh fourth, 394 thousand.


In terms of wool textile machinery, 455 thousand woolen machines were sold worldwide, an increase of 33% over 2000.

The countries that bought the most were China, 270 thousand, followed by Italy, far less than China, 41 thousand, and Turkey 19 thousand.

In this regard, European countries have also increased their efforts.

Investment increased by 84%, and Asian countries increased by 34%, mainly in China.

Asian countries account for 73% of the world's total purchases.


In terms of spinning machines, around 260 thousand units were sold around the world, an increase of 26% over last year.

China is still far ahead, buying 119 thousand units.


From the perspective of ownership, it is estimated that there are 157 million existing units in the world.

Staple spinning machine

There are 112 million in Asia, 10 million in South America, 9 million in Eastern Europe, 8 million in North America, and 6 million in Western Europe.

According to statistics, there are 15 million global fiber spinning machines (wool spinning machines), 7 million in Asia and about 4 million in Western Europe.

There are fewer rotary spinning machines, only 8 million in the world, more than 3 million in Eastern Europe and 2 million in Asia.


Loom, according to Itmf statistics, the world sold 43 thousand and 400 shuttleless looms, 29% less than in 2000, of which 3/4 is sold to Asia, China is still the largest buyer, 23 thousand and 600 units, but 33% less than that in 2000.

Besides Asia, the most important buyers are Italy, 2800 units, almost the same as those purchased in 2000, followed by Turkey, 1280, 46% less than in 2000.

Shuttleless loom sales decreased by 41%.
