Sponsored by the Technology Department of the Ministry of economic affairs, the 2011 Textile Technology International Forum and research and Development Exhibition (TIFE), which was carried out by the Comprehensive Research Institute of textile industry, held 5-6 days and two days at the International Conference Center of Taiwan University, and invited 18 experts from the US, Japan, Germany, France, Britain and China to make 18 keynote speeches from the perspective of business management, environmental sustainability and green consumption.

The opening ceremony of the Textile Forum is organized by the president of the general assembly.

Wang Yakang presided over and Wang Yakang said that the textile industry in Taiwan is facing rapid globalization competition. With the sudden impact of the green consumption market, it is imperative for enterprises to respond effectively.

This year's TIFE theme "sustainable innovation" has invited experts from home and abroad to carry out interactive discussions and trend sharing. It hopes to convey how enterprises can take four aspects of environment, economy, energy and engineering into consideration, combined with group wisdom, and maintain ecological environment and sustainable development.

Lin Quanneng, deputy director of the Technology Department of the Ministry of economic affairs of Taiwan, pointed out that since 2001, the Ministry of economic affairs has commissioned the textile and other legal entities to implement the "Textile Technology International Forum and research and development achievements exhibition".

This year, towards eleventh years, we hope to help domestic textile players grasp the global pulsation and enhance their core competitiveness through continuous international forum activities.

In the opening ceremony, Mr.Peter Price Thomas, the chief executive of the global sustainable network organization, and Miss Abi Rushton, the founder and general manager of the UK ethics expert consultants, were invited to give a presentation on "Textile Innovation Strategy" and "innovation for the future sustainability of enterprises".

The Taiwan Textile Institute will display a number of research and development achievements, including the textile robot Tman, which is as high as three meters, and won the gold prize of the first German iF product design award: "cloth garden", "Lotus free cloth fluorine free show", "environmental protection innovation film", "folding fabric supercapacitor" and carbon footprint, industry alliance and innovation information system.
