Pakistan Turkey Denim Extra Tariff

Consul General of Turkey FateniETEM Pakistan The business community promised that he would ask the government to solve the problem of levying 18% additional tariffs on Pakistan denim fabrics.


Before completing his term of office, he exchanges with members of the Karachi chamber of Commerce and industry (KCCI). Mr. ETEM said that during the past three years, trade between the two countries increased from $600 million to $1 billion.


He expects this positive momentum to go ahead. He said trade between the two countries is likely to exceed $2 billion in the near future.


KCCI chamber of Commerce Chairman Mohamed Said Shafiq (MohammadSaeedShafiq) request Turkey Cancellation of Pakistan Denim A total of 18% of the additional duties, now 24.5%, will take effect from July 24, 2011.


He said the move would seriously impact exporters in Pakistan, and Pakistan is suffering from the war on terror and rising unemployment.


Mr. Shafiq asked the Consul General of Turkey to remind the government of the concerns of Pakistan exporters over the increase in additional tariffs and urged the government to find a solution at an early date.
