Around the Qinghai Tibet railway, the west to east gas pipeline project, the south to North Water Transfer Project, the Yunnan Tibet railway and the Dali Ruili railway and other major projects, the investigation and monitoring of active faults and the evaluation of regional crustal stability are completed, providing important scientific support for the early feasibility analysis, route selection, construction and safe operation of the relevant projects.

At present, the status of Karst Rocky Desertification in Southwest China has been identified, which provides an important support for the comprehensive improvement of rocky desertification.

According to the survey, the area of rocky desertification in the southwest area is 110 thousand square kilometers, accounting for 23% of the karst area, and the average annual growth rate of rocky desertification is 1.86%.

We completed the 1 to 50 thousand hydrogeological survey of the key karst basin 100 thousand square kilometers, and set up more than 80 demonstration projects for groundwater development and rocky desertification comprehensive treatment, which solved the irrigation problem of 300 thousand people drinking water and about 200000 mu of arable land, and provided demonstration experience for the comprehensive improvement of rocky desertification.
