Sewing Machine IndustryJapanese Market

The sewing machine manufacturing industry in Japan started in 1920s, after the two World War, and in twentieth Century and twentieth Century, after introducing advanced technology from Europe and America, it started the multi-function sewing machine and electronics. Computer home sewing machine And gradually realized the spanformation and upgrading from "made in Japan" to "created in Japan". At the end of the 1990s, due to the rising manufacturing costs and labor prices in Japan, Japan's main sewing machine manufacturers such as brothers, heavy machinery, Pegasus, Da he and snakes began to spanfer overseas industries, and set up factories in neighboring Korea, Thailand, mainland China and Taiwan in China.

To this day, with the acceleration of overseas spanfer of industries, Japan The scale of the local industry has been shrinking. Only the development and production of some multifunctional household sewing machines and some high-end special industrial machines have been retained, and a new industrial mode has been developed, which is based on the advantages of local technology, developing high-end products, and producing large quantities of large scale products with overseas processing advantages. In 2010, more than 50 enterprises in Japan produced 240 thousand sewing machines, with an annual output value of 36 billion 789 million yen (about 3 billion RMB), of which 60 thousand domestic sewing machines were produced and 180 thousand industrial sewing machines were produced.

Local manufacturing: market Warmer recovery drives Japan's recovery

At present, domestic sewing machines are mainly produced by industrial sewing machines, and their products are mainly exported to China, Singapore and other Asian markets, while domestic sewing machines are mainly sold domestically and exported to Europe and America. Since 2008, the demand for sewing machines in the international market has been plunged into a straight line under the influence of the international financial crisis. The demand for high-end sewing machines in Singapore, which is centered around Singapore, has dropped sharply. As the main market in Japan, the mainland of China has been strongly affected by Chinese brand sewing machines and the market demand has shrank sharply. As a result, the production of local sewing machines in Japan in 2008 showed a significant decline in -2009 and nearly half of its capacity.

Up to 2010, the international market was gradually out of the financial crisis and the demand rebounded sharply. The sewing machine production in Japan increased by 50.8% over the same period, especially the output of industrial sewing machines increased by 78.2%. The Japanese sewing machine industry quickly recovered to the level of the early financial crisis.

But judging from the product variety, Japanese industrial sewing machine production is more strongly affected by the financial crisis. In 2010, the output of industrial sewing machine returned to the level of 2008, but compared with 2007, its output was less than half of that time. In contrast, the production of Japanese household sewing machines has gone down this year. Since 2008, it has been affected by the financial crisis to a certain extent, but the impact is much smaller than that of industrial sewing machines. Production has basically continued to develop at a low level.

In March 2011, a magnitude 9 earthquake occurred in Japan. The factory buildings and equipment of the heavy Tian Yuan factory and other sewing enterprises were damaged to a certain extent. The power supply problem also affected the recovery of Japanese production to some extent. However, according to the statistics released by Japan's Ministry of industry and economy, the sewing machine industry in Japan has not been greatly affected.

In March this year, the output of Japanese industrial sewing machines increased by 16 thousand, an increase of 12.7% over the previous year, an increase of 6.3% over the same period, 18 thousand sales, an increase of 14% over the previous year, a 6% increase in the ring ratio, and 12 thousand stocks in the same period, a decrease of 24.7% over the same period last year, and a decrease of 8.3% over the same period.

Production and sales were increased compared with the same period last year and last year.

Local sales: special phenomenon of "selling more than production"

Compared to the main production and marketing areas of sewing machines in mainland China and Taiwan, Japan, the production and sales of sewing machines in Japan showed a "sales outlay". Since 2003, the production and sale of sewing machines in Japan has been continuously selling more than the output. Take 2010 alone as an example: in 2010, Japan produced 240 thousand and 200 sewing machines and 257 thousand and 800 sewing machines, and the sales volume was significantly higher than the output of 17 thousand and 601 units. From the point of view of exports, this phenomenon is even more obvious. There was a big gap between export and output of sewing machines in Japan in 2010. So where does this export compare with the output of hundreds of thousands of sewing machines?

From Japan's import data, we can get a glimpse of one or two. In 2010, Japan imported 881 thousand and 200 sewing machines, of which 836 thousand and 800 were domestic sewing machines and 44 thousand and 400 were industrial sewing machines. The number of imported exports is over 30 million units, while the hundreds of thousands of sewing machines exported by Japanese exporters are more than produced by Japanese overseas factories, which are sold back to Japan for sale again. Among them, the reason why the output of industrial sewing machines is "export +" is that the output refers to the output of more than 50 enterprises in Japan, while the output of enterprises below 50 is not included in the statistical range.

According to China's export data to Japan, in 2010, China exported 485 thousand and 800 Japanese sewing machines to Japan, occupying more than half of Japan's imports, of which more than 70% of export volume was completed by Japanese enterprises, such as brothers, heavy machinery, Pegasus and big sum.

Sewing machine exports: Double growth of industrial machines and home appliances exports

Japan is the third largest sewing machine export area in the world, and the export volume is second only to the mainland of China and the Taiwan region of China. In 2010, Japan exported 530 thousand sewing machines, with an export amount of 40 billion 500 million yen, up 35% and 88.5% respectively from the same period last year. Among them, 290 thousand domestic sewing machines were exported, with an export amount of 2 billion 500 million yen, an increase of 18.2% and 27.9% respectively; 240 thousand of the industrial sewing machines were exported, and the export amount was 38 billion yen, an increase of 63.4% and 94.6% respectively. The export of industrial sewing machines and household sewing machines increased by more than two figures.

From the export market, Japanese household sewing machines are mainly exported to the United States and the United Arab Emirates. Among them, the household sewing machines exported to the United States account for 51.8% of the total export volume of Japanese household sewing machines. The products are mainly intelligent multi-functional household sewing machines, whose average unit price is about 5000 RMB / Arabia.

In terms of industrial sewing machines, Japan's main export areas are Singapore, Hongkong and China, and the largest garment producing area in the world, the mainland of China. The rapid growth of Japan's industrial sewing machine exports in 2010 was due to the multiplying growth of market demand in the mainland of China.

In 2010, the spanformation and upgrading of China's garment industry accelerated. The adjustment of industrial structure made the mainland demand for high-end sewing machines, especially special sewing machines. On the other hand, the impact of the international financial crisis has made the demand for International Sewing machinery market steadily rising. Orders for international re export markets represented by Singapore and Hongkong China are also increasingly active.

Sewing machine imports: domestic machine originated from domestic demand

The development of Japan's sewing machinery industry is partly due to the popularity of Japanese sewing culture. Japan is one of the countries with the highest penetration rate of household sewing machines in the world. The annual demand for home sewing machines is more than 600 thousand. A large proportion of domestic sewing machines rely on imports. The sewing machines imported by Japan every year are mainly domestic sewing machines.

In 2010, Japan imported 880 thousand sewing machines, with an import amount of 10 billion 200 million yen, up 35% and 88.5% respectively from the same period last year. Among them, domestic sewing machines imported 840 thousand units, an increase of 0.8%, the import amount of 7 billion 800 million yen, a decrease of 0.4%, the import of industrial sewing machines 40 thousand, and the import amount of 2 billion 400 million yen, respectively, by 21.8% and 31.5% respectively. Imports of household sewing machines account for 95% of the total import volume of Japanese sewing machines.

From the point of view of importing countries, Japan's main import area is China's inland, accounting for more than half of its total import value. The vast majority of these products are caused by the sale of products made by Japanese funded enterprises such as brothers, heavy machinery and Pegasus.
