Glass Fiber Nonmetallic Materials

FRP is a kind of glass fiber composite material, its comprehensive performance is relatively good, so the product is widely used, involving more than 20 industries, covering almost all sectors of the national economy.

Among them, chemical industry, construction, electric power, light industry, petrochemical industry, electromechanical, automobile and other industries have the largest number of applications.

China's advanced fiberglass composite materials have been widely used in the aviation industry. At present, such composites are used both in civil aircraft and military aircraft.

Nonmetallic materials

It takes natural mineral as raw material, after the scientific calculation and reasonable proportioning of various raw material components, and then processes all kinds of products by grinding, homogenizing, melting, drawing, winding and weaving.

The diameter of monofilament of glass fiber is from several microns to more than 20 microns, which is equivalent to 1/20-1/5 of a hair. Each strand of fibril has several hundred or even thousands of monofilaments.

Glass fiber is characterized by high strength, high modulus of elasticity, low elongation, and electrical insulation and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in various fields of Yu Guomin's economy as a reinforcing material, electrical insulating material and thermal insulation material in composite materials.


FRP is a composite material composed of thermoplastic resin and glass fiber, carbon fiber and polyamide fiber.

Usually, the mixture of these materials is melted and mixed to form pellets, which are molded by injection molding.

There are also made of long fiber into sheet shaped materials, molded by pressing machine.

The former is aimed at improving the performance of various resins such as heat resistance, dimensional stability, impact strength or electrical conductivity with fiber reinforced materials. The latter aims at manufacturing large products, and attaches importance to the influence of fiber alignment and content.

The thermoplastic resins used are various, such as AS, ABS, PA, PBT, PC, PET, POM, PPS, and high performance engineering resins, which are utilized according to their different characteristics.
