According to the survey report, although the average size of enterprises has declined, innovation ability and efficiency level have been improved compared with the last 500 competitive enterprises.

For example, the average profit rate of the top 10 enterprises in garment industry is the highest, reaching 10.46%; the average profit margin of the top 10 enterprises in the knitting industry is 10.36%.

Second, the central and Western Enterprises' innovative capability is outstanding, which improves the innovation performance index of textile enterprises in the Midwest.

The average R & D investment of the central and western enterprises accounted for 2.06% and 2.7% of the main business income respectively, higher than the 0.12 percentage points and 0.75 percentage points of the 500 strong enterprises in the whole industry.

Third, the level of enterprise efficiency will be improved.

According to the comparison of the evaluation data, the average profit margin of the 500 competitive enterprises in this industry is 5.92%, which is 1.88 percentage points higher than the average profit margin of the enterprises above the whole scale, which is 0.72 percentage points higher than that of the 500 top companies.

Fourth, the competitive strength of enterprises has a prominent role in the industry.

Despite the decline in the average size of enterprises, the average industrial gross output and household profit of the 500 finalists in 2009 were 21 times and 34 times the household gross industrial output value and the household average profit of Enterprises above designated size.

Fifth, the work of energy conservation and consumption reduction is outstanding.

The current evaluation data show that the competitiveness of the top 500 enterprises, the competitiveness of all industries, the top 10 (20 strong) enterprises, the unit output value of electricity consumption and water consumption has decreased significantly.

At the same time, due to the financial crisis and other unfavorable factors, competitive advantage enterprises also encountered some difficulties and development resistance. For example, raw material prices and labor costs increased, the total assets contribution rate of the top 500 industries in 2009 decreased compared with the previous year.

The evaluation and release of enterprise competitiveness conducted by China Textile Industry Association aims to promote the upgrading of China's textile and garment industry and enhance its overall competitiveness.

The event was launched in 2003 and has been held for eight consecutive years.
