Helmut Lang: Master Of Minimalism

Helmut Lang has always been a master of contemporary minimalism. His design focuses on tailoring and cloth selection.

From his jeans to perfume, you can feel his unique style and charm.

He was born in 1956 and a highly artistic city, Vienna, which may be one of the reasons why he became a designer.

After a fashion show in Paris, he returned to Vienna in 1977, but then he moved to New York to get in touch with modern American minimalist design.

In 1998, he also launched the conference to the designer online, becoming the first designer to publish the fashion week online.

Born in Vienna, he had been reading finance and economics related subjects until one day he was forced to design his own clothing because he could not find his coat and T-shirt.

Prada bought a forty-nine percent stake in the brand in 1999, but Lang was able to leave the brand after five years without full freedom of design talent.

Without him, Prada sold it to Theory Holdings Co in 2006. The company then invited Michael and Nicole Colovos to develop Lang logo high-tech fabrics and modernist LOOK and color, but Andrew president of the brand said, "if the brand is willing to come back, the brand door will always be open like him."

"I want to be an artist, but I am always afraid of it."

Helmut Lang said in the 1998 issue of September magazine, "I was influenced by the Catholic family since I was a child, so the feeling of original sin has taken root in my heart, so it is hard for me to try to learn finance later."
