The latest figures show that China's trade surplus reached its highest level in 18 months in July, and exports grew by 38.1% over the same period last year, much higher than market expectations.

However, in Guangdong, the challenge to export enterprises has just arrived this year.

The exclusive data obtained recently showed that the relevant departments had conducted a survey of 530 foreign trade enterprises in Guangdong recently, and more than 70% of the enterprises reflected the rise in their salaries. More than 60% of the enterprises expected to pay higher salaries in the second half of the year.

Many export enterprises are facing the dilemma of "orders to die in the first half of the year and die in the second half of the year".

Order

Drop sharply

Compared with the bustling scene of overtime work in the first half of the year, the factory of Chaozhou red pottery production Co., Ltd. recently began to idle.

"Export enterprises are getting worse and worse."

The head of the company told the author that many foreign customers expected the renminbi to appreciate at the beginning of the year. Therefore, the early order, which resulted in a large number of orders in the first half of the year, and a big drop in orders in the second half of the year, which is much better than that in the first half of last year.

If the order volume continues this way, it is estimated that the factory will be out of stock after October.

The imbalance of this order is not only in one enterprise, but also exists in many ceramic enterprises in Chaozhou.

Yin Jianwen, Secretary General of Dongguan Electronics Industry Association, also said that some member units of the association also reflected the reduction of orders in the second half of the year.

No profit, no order at all.

Liao Yanchun, President of Guangzhou toy industry association, told the author himself.

enterprise

Although the order is still very stable, he is unwilling to take the order, because there is no profit to figure out.

"In the second half of this year, there are too many uncertainties for export enterprises, such as instability of raw material prices, instability of exchange rate, and cost of workers.

Originally, the industry's profit is low, and with so many uncertainties, it is impossible to earn money after receiving the bill.

If customers have to place an order again, I will decline it on the grounds that I am too busy.

Worrying about green barriers in Europe and America

Guangdong authorities are also facing more and more serious international trade protection situation.

After the outbreak of the financial crisis, trade protectionism against China showed a marked rise. The cases of trade frictions all involve Guangdong products.

In June this year, the European Union proposed anti-dumping investigations on China's export of EU ceramic tile products, involving about 150 of the export scale enterprises involving more than 300 thousand dollars in Guangdong.

In the long run, Europe and the United States are likely to become a reality for China to build green barriers under the pretext of controlling carbon emissions and preventing carbon leakage, which may become our "unbearable weight".
