June 24, according to the American "China Daily" report, the Chinese born American designer Sue Wong, though not formally educated in fashion design, has successfully become one of the most popular fashion designers.

At the annual meeting of the Asian Association South Canadian branch, the award-winning Chinese costume designer Sue Wong.

The costumes of the Hollywood blockbuster "Alice in Wonderland" are from her handwriting.

She designs gowns based on the main characters Alice, the Red Queen, the white queen, the white rabbit and so on, and joins the designer's consistent romantic feminine style and handcraft skills.

Surprisingly, such a successful fashion designer has never received formal education in costume design.

Sue Wong was born in rural China in 1949 and then moved to Hongkong with his parents.

In order to give her a more stable life, her parents moved abroad to the United States at the age of 6.

Although she liked fashion design ever since she was young, her parents thought it was hard to support her life and did not support her choice.

When she was in college, she got a scholarship from the California Academy of art, but she did not accept it, but instead chose to go to a technical school.

During school, she got a scholarship from Arpeja, a clothing company. She spent three hours after class every day helping the company's main designer draw pictures.

After graduation, she got the full-time job of the company.

During the three years of her company's design, the company's sales increased from 3 million yuan to 51 million yuan, and clothing sales reached 80-90.

This remarkable achievement laid a solid foundation for her in the clothing industry.

In 1979, she set up her own clothing company Sue Wong Inc. in Losangeles. But due to poor management, the company went bankrupt after a year.

In 1984, she was unwilling to make a comeback. This time, she hired financial advisers and publicity experts as her business partners.

In 1989, she moved the company's production department overseas.

She said, "I have always been fascinated by the fantasy stories of Alice and her surrealist fairyland adventures."

In the past, her design inspiration came from the mysterious female star Garbo, the exotic Morocco architecture and so on.

She said, "director Tim Burton has given me great inspiration. This series is full of whimsical and fun, and is especially suitable for my design aesthetics. It's my pleasure to make this wonderful story."

In addition to the movie styling, Sue Wong has also launched the Alice fairyland series with Disney, including the sweet dreamy Black Lace spliced Pink Satin sling skirt, and a laminated dress dress inspired by the rabbit. The unit price ranges from 329 US dollars to 609 dollars, and is sold in department stores such as Bloomingdale 1, s, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenne.
