June 12 is Russia's National Day. Today, the Russian National Pavilion of Shanghai World Expo will hold a grand celebration of Independence Day. Deputy Consul of Russia in Shanghai Xiang Defu, General Representative of the Russian Pavilion Strashko and President of All Russia Exhibition Center State Joint Stock Company Musayev attended the event.

In fluent Chinese, Xiang Defu said that the event was held not only because today is Russia's National Day, but also to celebrate the smooth operation of the World Expo for nearly a month and a half. At present, China Russia relations are developing well. The Russian National Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo, built by CSCEC, is a prominent manifestation of bilateral cooperation. We hope that the two sides will have the opportunity to conduct closer and deeper cooperation in the future.

On the same day, Novosibirsk held its first preview in the Russian Pavilion. At the preview, 10 Russian handmade micro sculptures were displayed, which was the first time that these unique and exotic micro sculptures appeared in Shanghai. Origen Volakimir, the author of micro sculpture works of art, appeared in the Russian Pavilion and explained to visitors the highlights of the works and the legendary production process. Through the microscope, tourists can clearly observe the camels in the eye of the needle, the national flag on the horse's mane and many other exquisite works. Among them, Origen Volakimir said that his most proud work was a snowman and Christmas tree carved on Santa Claus' walking stick - beautiful and exquisite decorations were still clearly visible on the 1.01mm high Christmas tree.

Micro carving technology originated in China and Japan, and has been developed for more than 60 years since it was spread to Russia. At present, only 11 people in the world master this micro carving technology, while there are 6 people in Russia. The Novosibirsk exhibition area opened for preview today has also attracted a large number of tourists. According to the venue staff, the Novosibirsk exhibition area will officially open on June 14, and it is hoped that more tourists will come to visit.

In addition, the Russian Pavilion also held a band performance, a round table meeting on Sino Russian cooperation in high-tech fields, a concert at the Russian Singer Square and other Independence Day celebrations, and presented the visitors with Russian flags, badges, postcards, souvenirs and other small gifts.
