EU China Leather Shoes

On September 28th, in October 3, 2008, the European Commission launched a sunset review of China's anti-dumping measures against European leather shoes to determine whether the anti-dumping measures imposed on China's leather shoes since October 2006 have been extended.

At present, France, Spain, Italy and Poland are firmly opposed to the abolition of anti-dumping measures in order to safeguard the interests of their footwear industry.

After investigation, the European Commission initially decided that the anti-dumping measures for Chinese leather shoes should continue to be maintained for two years.

The EU initially launched anti-dumping investigations on Chinese leather shoes in 2005, and imposed a 16.5% anti-dumping duty on Chinese leather shoes in October 2006, with a duration of 2 years.
