At the beginning of this year, the west developed the country.

Orders fell and growth slowed, and the industry and overall exports showed signs of recovery at the end of the first quarter.

The booming auto industry can make up for the drop in demand for shoe leather, which has been a driving force for the leather industry in the past year and a half.

In addition, the slaughter activities of the main suppliers of leather, such as Brazil, Argentina and Columbia, have been reduced. Other countries have banned the export of pellets and semi manufactured leather, and the stable demand for advanced leather has always been in the automotive industry.

Raw material

Price support, low grade leather still hoarded large quantities of stock.

Since the price of leather rose more than two years ago, and the price of crude oil dropped, the shoemaker began to replace leather with synthetic materials.

About 58% of the demand for leather comes from the global footwear industry. The market's demand for synthetic and functional materials as a substitute for leather has a negative impact on the shoe leather industry.

Nonetheless, in recent weeks, there are clear signs that demand for leather and raw materials is gradually recovering.

For example, the US leather and Leather Association (USHSLA) report pointed out that the US leather exports increased by 3.5% compared with the first quarter of last year, and Brazil's exports for the first time registered an increase of 2.3% over the same period last year.

In addition, the Chinese government has set the GDP growth target at 6.7%, and more importantly, the mainland's retail sales continued to rise by 10.5% in March.

So the situation is optimistic in terms of restoring demand for leather and domestic retail sales in China.

China's leather industry still has a dominant position in the challenge.

The nineteenth China International Leather Exhibition will be held three months later. The exhibition date will be the same as last year (from August 31st to September 2nd, Wednesday to five).

The organizers indicated that the preparations for the exhibition were ideal.

At present, 19 exhibitors have been participating in the exhibition, including Australia, Brazil (2), Ethiopia, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, Spain, Taiwan (3), Thailand, Turkey and the United States (2).

In 2015, China International leather exhibition attracted more than 23000 visitors, mainly from China's major production provinces, looking for new suppliers and purchasing new products.

Therefore, China International Leather Exhibition is the only leather event in the mainland of China. It can recruit many buyers for three days in a row.

Since its inception in 1998, it has been a success and truly reflects the market situation in China.

There are more than 1000 enterprises exhibiting various kinds of leather, chemicals and machinery to meet the demand of leather supply chain.

China International Leather Exhibition is the top event of the leather industry in China, which truly reflects the situation of the industry.

Mr. Su Chaoying, chairman of the China Leather Association, published the leather industry in the Asia Pacific region earlier.

"China has achieved double-digit economic growth over the past 20 years. It is impossible to maintain such a rapid growth in the future, especially domestic and international factors.

China is now entering the pition period. Economic growth has been pformed from exports and investment to innovation and consumption, bringing new challenges to China's leather industry.

"

Just like last year, the China International Leather Exhibition will be held in a challenging environment, and China will continue to implement strict environmental legislation on polluting industries, resulting in the closure of some small tanneries, while stimulating large tanneries.

Nevertheless, the potential of China's leather industry is self-evident from its data.

The total value of leather exports in 2015 was $86 billion 130 million, while the entries recorded a historical high of $9 billion 570 million, an increase of 2.1% over 2014.

These amazing figures have huge business opportunities for the enterprises supplying leather to China. The China International Leather Fair provides a platform for these enterprises to meet major buyers and purchasing decision makers.

Some shoe makers have moved from China to other Southeast Asian countries where wages are relatively cheap, such as Vietnam and Kampuchea.

But these countries are inferior to China's experienced footwear industry in terms of output, infrastructure and quality supervision, let alone take their place.

China is the only country that can produce 4 billion 560 million pairs of leather shoes and export 840 million pairs to meet global demand.

China needs to import enough leather to meet production needs. According to data from the China Leather Association, one of the organizers of the exhibition, the imported leather made in 2015 amounted to 160 thousand tons, with a total value of US $2 billion 630 million.

As for chemicals, TEGEWA, a German Association, will launch the tanning safety plan at the China International Leather Fair.

TEGEWA is made up of European chemicals suppliers, from textiles, leather, textile auxiliaries and laundry detergent industry.

These German, Swiss and Holland chemical suppliers have always enjoyed a high reputation in the leather industry, and are working together to promote REACH and ZDHC regulations and safety related projects.

Although most of the buyers are from China, the exhibition will attract overseas VIP buyers as usual.

A large number of shoe brands and multinational enterprises that are sourcing and manufacturing in China will also send local purchasing departments to visit the exhibition to show the true internationalization of China International Leather Exhibition.
