I wonder if you have the same feeling. Since using smart phones and various social media, I have become more and more difficult to concentrate on one thing.

I don't switch between mobile phones, computers and tablets. I seem to be afraid of pulling away valuable things, and in the end I get nothing, but time slips through my fingers.

In fact, multitasking and efficiency are never twins.

We must be single-minded if we want to be productive.

There's a lot of distraction in the work, such as sudden SMS, phone calls, emergency mail from customers and so on, all of which are unique in their own way, so that you can't concentrate.

According to scientific investigation, after a person is interrupted, the brain needs to refocus in 28 minutes.

Attention

You can figure out that if you have 8 interruptions a day, you will pass by in half a day.

Marla Tabaka, a small business consultant in the US, recently shared the 5 most productive steps on INC, none of which is related to multitasking or email.

1. set expectations for yourself.

It's easy for us to go to social media, get rid of your mailbox, or even pull into a computer game that doesn't bother you.

These are the most common ones when you are not sure, nor are you sure about your next step.

Upgrade your task list regularly and assign a special, actionable step to everyone's project.

With this powerful weapon in hand, you don't have to make any decisions about your next step.

This alone can raise your productivity exponentially.

2. set up for others.

expected value

If you create a culture and say that your door is always open, you are looking for trouble.

We teach others how to treat us.

If your employees, customers, family members, friends, every time they interrupt you and receive satisfactory feedback from you, they will continue to occupy your time and attention.

You and your company could have been better.

For your door opening policy, create a specific time and stick to it.

At first, these people will have some difficult discussions in your life.

Being your own boss does not mean that you have 7 free days a week.

3., be conscious.

Multitasking is no better than procrastination.

When you are not sure of your direction, or are not happy to do your next task, a break feels like a relief.

You can tell yourself that a customer needs an answer immediately, or if you don't face it immediately, you will disappoint an employee.

But you know it's not true.

If you jump from one thing to another, and do not accomplish one thing, you are avoiding important things.

Why do I do this?

Once you have the answer, you can take meaningful action and do more.

4. turn off the notice.

If you are on the computer

work

Turn off any unnecessary window, and for the sake of benefits, turn off the notification of social media and turn off email.

Nothing can wait 1 or 2 hours.

It feels good to be needed, but the feeling of success will be better.

5. use a timer.

Your brain can focus on a task two hours at a time.

Imagine what you can do in two hours without interruption.

Many Marla Tabaka customers say that once they have applied these productivity principles, they will accomplish more in a morning than they did a week ago.

Set an old-fashioned timer for an hour, and then go to work.

Next, set up a five minute break to stretch your legs and change the environment.

With a timer, you will not loiter or get into unnecessary communication.

This is the timer principle.

Let's do it now. I believe you have more time to be disturbed. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish.

In fact, I once did an experiment to set a short-term goal for myself, to decompose the short-term goals, to know their differences, and to achieve them.

Turn off all social media and unrelated web pages.

Concentrating on what is necessary, I finally achieved my goal and didn't lose anything because I switched off those social media.

You can try it.
