Elements are introduced into their fashion design, but so far, how to make 3D print clothing become more suitable for wear is still a considerable challenge.

This is also a problem that MODECLIX project of University of Hertfordshire (UH) is trying to solve.

Recently, the project announced the introduction of wearable.

3D print clothing

A new prototype series.

Yes, the focus of this series is the wearability of 3D print clothing.

It is understood that the MODECLIX project was developed by the Shaun Borstrock of the school, together with the famous 3D expert and designer Mark Bloomfield.

According to Shaun, they are designed by simulating the traditional fabric and printing 3D flexible chain structure to solve the wearable problem of 3D printing clothing, making it have the same flexibility and sag as cloth.

He believes that the complex design process involved in the production of these garments is a breakthrough in clothing technology and 3D printing.

According to Tiangong, the 3D printing MODECLIX series includes 8 pieces.

Dress

And two headwear, whether printed or printed, each can be customized to any size and shape. Users only need to manually adjust the links between the various parts.

These 3D print garments are printed on an industrial 3D printer, EOS Formiga, and the material is white nylon powder.

The time of printing depends on the complexity of these dress designs, but on average, 3D printing takes about 62 hours to complete a skirt.

After printing, these white fabrics need cleaning, surface treatment and hand dyeing.

Finally, the traditional clothing method is used to connect all parts to form garments.

All the clothes in the series are designed to fit the body of the model very well.

The model said it was comfortable to sit and sit on it.

It is said that all the 3D print costumes will be unveiled at the Mercedes Benz Bokeh South Africa International Fashion Festival in April.
