China'S Production Costs Rise. UNIQLO Wants To Set India As A New Sourcing Point.
Fast Marketing Company UNIQLO's main purchase point of UNIQLO is China. But with China's rising production costs, UNIQLO intends to diversify its sourcing resources. The company is considering positioning the clothing procurement point in India.
Tadashi Yanai, chairman, President and chief executive of fast retailing company, met with Narendra Modi, India's prime minister Modi. Subsequently, the India government issued a short statement on its website that UNIQLO intends to purchase garments from India.

A spokesman for Fast Retailing said that with the globalization of business, UNIQLO is considering finding more production partners so that it can respond to the needs of consumers in a timely and efficient manner. But at present, the company has not made any practical decisions.
