Sarah Burton's Royal Wedding

Sarah Burton

Before April 29th, British designer Sarah Burton (SarahBurton) was only a

Designer

A substitute in the long team is basically anonymous.

A royal wedding with global attention pushed her into the field of vision.

She was the creative director of Alexander McQueen, a British designer. After Alexander MacQeen died in February 2010, she took over the famous brand in May of the same year.

As the creative director of Alexander MacQeen - a role of Sarah Burton who barely succeeded after Alexander MacQeen committed suicide, she not only worked in his great shadow, but also tended to work behind the scenes in the spotlight.

However, 3 billion people will change your life.

Although watching

Royal Wedding

The total number of viewers is lower than previously expected, but this does not prevent Sarah Burton from becoming a star now, because she designs gorgeous snowflakes for the Kate Middleton.

The wedding dress changed the life of two women: pforming Kate Middleton into a future Princess; pforming Sarah Burton into a quiet, modern brand voice will gradually and inevitably rely on the unique vision of the brand's founder.

One night before the royal wedding, Sarah Burton, dressed in white, and her husband David, and two public relations officers who helped to introduce and avoid questions about wedding dress, entered the McQueen exhibition at Metropolitan Museum of Art, and were greeted by curious and awe inspiring people.

This is not to say that she made the first two McQueen in October 2010 and March this year.

Fashion Show

No attention has been paid to this, which can not be avoided after Mcqueen's death.

But most people in the industry did not know her at the time, and now those who know her want to know her better.

"Look, Sarah!" when David Burton stepped back to the photographer Solve Sundsbo in a friendly way, Neiman Markus and Podolf Goodman's clothing director appeared to give Sarah Burton a kiss.

Emanuel Ott, editor of the French version of fashion, also appeared at the scene.

When the solemn aut praised the wedding dress, in fact, the wedding dress was kept secret, only 15 employees who had been assigned to make wedding dresses knew its secret. Sarah Burton replied with great pride, "that's very interesting."

This humble and simple discourse shows that Sarah, now 36, is a very gentle person, contrary to Burton.

She worked as a university intern in McQueen Brand Company in 1996.

What they have in common is their love for work, craft, history, art and movies. This is why MacQeen used Sarah Burton as a trusted assistant until he died.

In fact, trust and loyalty are an important part of the whole thing.

MacQeen asked everyone around him to be loyal to him.

As his old friend, Simon Angelos, Professor of fashion at University of the Arts in San Francisco, said: "MacQeen is very cautious about people.

He will test the loyalty of his friends, and if you fail to pass the test, you will say goodbye.

It was Simon Angelos who sent Sarah Burton to practice in MacQeen in the mid 90s of last century when he was a printing and dyestuff technician at the central Saint Martin Institute in London.

Sarah Burton admitted: "without Simon, I would not be here now."

The relationship between Simon Angelos and Alexander MacQeen can be traced back to their students in Saint Martin. Young people who knew their relationship tended to be close to engrus in order to get jobs with MacQeen. MacQeen's ingenuity was like a stimulant in London.

When Sarah Burton approached him, ang glense said he had doubts about the mix.

"I have some misgivings about her gentle side," he said of Manchester born Sarah Burton. "Saint Martin students have such an image that they can design your clothes upside down, and look crazy about how crazy you are. This is not a job.

And she is not. For her, it's more about work creation.

She can draw very well, which is very unusual among today's students.

She is also keen on research, but more often, she knows how to turn them into something else. "

Engre said, in the last few years of face to face talks with Mcqueen before his death, MacQeen told him that he thought the fashion house would be completely safe in Sarah Burton's hands, and she had that DNA.

"He absolutely loved her."

Added ang glense.

At that time, Sarah Burton had taken over the design of the brand business series in addition to the fashion show series with the Italy factory.

When she saw her on the night before his funeral, he was shocked by the fact that she had hardly changed in recent years. He said, "she is still gentle and kind hearted, and has not been influenced by any fashion world."

For him, the wedding dress is not only perfect, but it looks like MacQeen, who dismantled the best of all decorations. More importantly, it marks the key pition of Sarah Burton.

Sarah Burton's career

Sarah has 4 brothers and sisters who grew up in Manchester, England.

One of her brothers is a professional oboist, and a younger sister is an opera singer.

She completed the basic course at Manchester Polytechnic, and then studied fashion prints at the central Saint Martin School of art and design in London and graduated in 1997.

She said in fashion magazine February 2010: "once I wanted to learn art in Ruskin college in Oxford, but then I decided to pursue my love for fashion."

At the central Saint Martin Institute, her mentor and Alexander MacQeen's friend Simon Angelos suggested that she take part in an interview during Alexander MacQeen's internship for a year.

Sarah Burton recalls: "at that time, in a small workroom where Hawkes was located in Hawkes square, I remember the interview when he asked me," do you believe in UFO? "And his business assistant, Terino Forcade, asked me if I could make denim works.

I have no clue. "

Burton joined McQueen as an intern in 1996 and returned to the company after graduation.

She was appointed head of women's costume design in 2000 and served as MacQeen's assistant until MacQeen died in February 2010.

In May 2010, when Burton was appointed the creative director of the brand, JonathanAkeroyd, the brand's chief executive and chief executive, said: "we are glad that Sarah has agreed to play the role of creative director.

She has worked with him for over fourteen years and has a deep understanding of his vision, which will enable the company to stick to its core values.

Robert Polet, President and chief executive officer of the ancient capital group, added: "Sarah has real talent, has an accurate understanding of the brand, and has the necessary vision to move forward. We will give Sarah and her team full support in the coming years."

Burton admitted that at first, replacing MacQeen was a horrible prospect.

I thought, "how do I get started?" MacQeen thought differently from everyone else. I knew I could not pretend to be him, but I had to ask myself what his pursuit was. Could it be stopped? I considered what I wanted.

For me, what is the best choice, like many women in my age, I want children very much, but then I don't think this should be a reason for not accepting challenges. Finally, I decided to go on and do my best.

The designer did not plan to duplicate MacQeen's landmark drama show.

In the September 2010 women's wear daily, she said, "spectacular performance shows - that's what MacQeen is good at. I can't try that way."

In September 2010, she exhibited the first women's dress series she designed in Paris. This series salutes MacQeen's drama aesthetics, but adds her own more feminine element.

"People ask," what exactly do Sarah want to do? "But I have worked here for so long that I have always had a large part of those fashions.

She said, "I'm not going to cancel the past.

That's going to get rid of me.

MacQeen always has elements, but at the same time, you can't always stay where you are. You must be honest with yourself.

This is what he repeatedly instilled in me: you must be able to support your work.

She believed that MacQeen had taught her everything about design.

"Everything I learned here.

If you don't know how to do something, MacQeen will let you accept the challenge and teach you how to do it, or let you find out the answer yourself.

On one occasion, he handed over a dress and said, "now zip up it," and then leave the whole weekend! "{page_break}
