One: in 1915, when Mao Zedong, 22 years old, studied in Hunan's first normal school, he wrote and posted a swim notice in order to organize students to develop swimming together.

Did the students read it? After Mao Zedong launched this advertisement, he signed up, and soon organized a swimming team of more than 100 people.

Every day after dinner, swim in Xiangjiang, hit the water, heroic dry cloud.

Swimming has also brought a lot of inspiration to Mao Zedong. Young Mao Zedong once wrote: "I am confident that I will be two hundred years in my life and I will fight for three thousand miles."

He expressed his ambition in life and the heroic spirit of soaring.

Second: in September 1915, Mao Zedong, who was studying in the first normal school in Hunan, was troubled by the hardships of the country and the pain of the people. He urgently needed to make friends with some intimate friends who could "sacrifice himself for the people and give his home to the country". So he put up the "friend's notice" at the gates of all schools in Changsha in the name of "twenty-eight paintings of life" (the total number of three characters in Mao Zedong's 28 characters). One was Luo Zhanglong, who later joined the Communist Party, but later turned.

The other two young people later became extreme reactionary elements.

At that time, Mao Zedong was still studying in the first normal school of Hunan Province, and was elected Minister of general affairs and Education Research Department of the academic Friends Association (responsible for the two duties).

After taking office, Mao Zedong summoned his fellow colleagues to discuss the matter and decided to rebuild the workers' night school at the national school near the first division.

At the meeting, Mao Zedong put forward four reasons for holding workers' night school. The first one is "the status quo of our country, the majority of the students who are out of school" in the society. They need to be educated. The second is Europe and the United States. Although education has developed well, the night schools, open-air schools and forest schools are not useless. It is worth learning from; third, three or four grade students in one division have finished their theoretical courses, followed by internships, and workers' night schools provide places for students to practice. The fourth is to break the gap between society and schools, and to enhance the connection between students and workers and peasants through night schools.

According to Mao Zedong's later night log, this advertisement has been sent out three times.

For the first time, it was posted on the street thoroughfare, and commissioned by the police to distribute it. It was "invalid for a long time". The second time, in addition to printing small sheets, it was also written in big paper and posted on busy streets. It still failed to receive the expected effect, and only 9 workers signed up.

Where is the problem? Mao Zedong summoned his classmates to discuss the countermeasures.

After extensive discussion, we can see that there are three reasons for this: one worker does not know the school, he does not want money, he can not believe that there will be such a good thing; secondly, he lets the police send advertisements, people have fear; thirdly, they only post, and illiterate people do not even look at the official notices.

Immediately after changing the way of recruiting students, Mao Zedong and his classmates took the printed advertisements and separated them to the workers' dormitories and slums.

A few days later, 102 people signed up.

Mao Zedong wrote the process of the activity into the evening log, saying that they were very popular with them and tried to interrogate them when they distributed their advertisements, and salty said, "reading night books!" through the evening school enrollment activities, Mao Zedong realized that doing mass work is not going deep into the masses. This principle has been implemented in his subsequent revolutionary career.

Mao Zedong presided over the opening ceremony of workers' night school, and served as a member of history teaching staff to set up and fill in the night school log.

Fourthly, looking up the advertisement column of the Ta Kung Pao in Hunan in July 31, 1920, we can find an advertisement entitled "origin of cultural books", written by Mao Zedong: "we believe that there is no new culture, because there is no new idea; no new ideas, because there is no new research; no new research, because there is no new material.

Mao Zedong wrote in his book "the origin of cultural books": "a new cultural flower is found on the Arctic Bank of Russia.
